My dear cousin from Wisconsin recently visited with her 99-year-old mother who, by the way, is doing so well! My cousin presented me with a box of hedgehogs she had been saving for me. I was so surprised! She is the cousin who introduced me to Hedgehog Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin, where there is a wonderful gift shop. Door County is a charming area and well worth the trip if you are in upper Wisconsin.
I have fallen in love with this sock monkey hedgehog! It's one of the cutest things I've seen. (It might also have to do with the fact that I coveted my neighbor's sock monkey as a child, but never had one of my own.)
The hedgehog knee socks with wooden buttons are adorable, too. I'll be waiting until fall to put those on--it's going to be in the 90's all next week.
The small brass-looking hedgehog on the left is actually a key holder with removable back--very clever. My little dog has already smushed the face of the green-spiked hedgehog dog toy. It's a real favorite of his! He hasn't gotten to munch on the hedgehog chew yet. It might have to sit around the house for a while before he's allowed to sink his teeth into it.
(There are several more Wisconsin hedgehogs to post, so I'll save those until next time.)
